I've often been accused of being a "record dealer" but I'm not. I'm a "record accumulator". I've never really given a lot of thought to value except in very rare instances. I've been accumulating records since 1961. I like to LISTEN to my records, not save them as investments. To me a beat up record can still be valuable as long as I can play it! But I've accumulated more records than I will ever play, or need -- between duplicates, songs I'm just not interested in, or styles I don't care for.

I have worked in broadcast radio since 1975. This has given me the opportunity to accumulate more records than the average person, and more oddball records than the usual person. And after you've been in the "business" for a while people discover you'll generally take their "old records" that they want to get rid of. And it's true. I've hauled home carload after carload of records over the years, lots of which have never been sorted out. But now that I'm "semi-retired" from the radio biz I have more time to enjoy, sort and sell records. I started selling records in Goldmine back in the 70's, owned a small record/music shop in Central Minnesota in the late 70's, early 80's, and was in the radio industry at the same time.

I believe records are to be PLAYED. You'll see MOST of the records in my store sell for $3. There are also a lot for $2 (mostly country) and very few that are priced higher than that (45's anyway). 78's and LP's are coming along too, although 45's are my favorite disc.
